About Our Publishing Company

Our growing collection is curated by artistic director Dr. Brian Messier, Director of Bands at Dartmouth College and founder of the Mexican Repertoire Initiative at Dartmouth. Valley Winds Publishing gives composers from underrepresented populations a platform to share their music across the United States and around the world — while keeping a fair share of the proceeds from their creative work.

Composer Earnings

Where the industry standard is roughly 10%, our non-profit status lets us pay represented composers 50% of the sale price of their music.

Mexican Repertoire Series

Our flagship series, offered in partnership with the Mexican Repertoire Initiative at Dartmouth and built on Dr. Messier's relationships with world-class composers in Mexico and beyond.

Classically Underrepresented Composers

The catalog keeps growing beyond the Mexican series to include composers from any and all historically underrepresented populations.

Music for Educators

Carefully curated works from grade 1 through grade 5, so diversifying your programming is straightforward and authentic at every level.
