This musical journey, encompassing both wintertime and Christmastide, has two works by contemporary composers as its focus: Sarah Quartel’s cantata, A Winter Day, conjures up haunting and vivid images of a cold and crisp winter, and of swirling, dancing snowflakes; in contrast, Cecilia McDowell’s carol cycle, A Winter’s Night, combines several joyous songs to create a performance full of Christmas spirit. This festive celebration will also include some favourite Christmas works, as well as the ever-popular audience carols for you to sing.
Petros Singers are delighted to welcome Christopher Webb, Baritone, and Cara Berridge, Violoncello, along with their accompanist Alex Knight. Do join them for candlelight, mulled wine and mince pies to get the Christmas season off to a great start!
