You want your website to show up high in a google search, as this is how a lot of people will find your group to start with. You can plug in ‘key words’ to help with this. Think broadly here. Say you are a choral society in Leicester, here are some examples of phrases that people might type into Google that you’d want to show up in the results for:
- Choral society in Leicester
- Choral society near Leicester
- Choir LE1 6AA or Choir LE1 (ie postcode/first part of postcode)
- Choir in Leicester
- Singing group in Leicester
- Community choir in Leicester (maybe you can persuade some of these searchers to join you!)
You can do this on your Platform by going to your home page and clicking edit (bottom right of page). Under the general tab scroll down to the Page Meta-data section, in here you can enter search engine keywords to help search engines such as google to find this page.
