Join the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor George Morton as they kick off their 79th concert series in exquisite style at the historic Victoria Hall, presenting music by Clara Schumann, Gustav Mahler, and the Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
The programme includes a lively Overture from L’Amant Anonime by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, followed by a selection of beautifully (and newly!) orchestrated songs by Clara Schumann featuring soprano, Ella Taylor. The orchestra will then present Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4, which will take listeners on a journey from the whimsical sound of sleigh bells to the serene depiction of a child's vision of heaven.
